Funeral and Memorial Services
The sound of a hymn played on the Great Highland pipes has become associated with funerals and memorial services. Perhaps it’s the ancient non-western scale of the instrument, or the soulful haunting sound they make.
Having a bagpiper located a short distance away can be very effective, but might require the bagpiper be cued.
